First tell me your type?
Are you a tourist or a traveler?
If you are the latter type then certainly the itinerary is the last thing you should be worrying about.
A tourist would always want a fixed set of plans for a considerable amount of days and their life will revolve only around those planned destinations, where is the chance of exploring something new? Nowhere!
If you are a traveler, like me ;-), you will always explore something new on your journey, you will have an open mindset to anything and everything coming your way. You wouldn’t mind going that extra mile for sipping the kulhad lassi as suggested by the hotel receptionist or hiking the remotest temple which you discovered on the way while riding in himalayas. Such ‘not so famous’ places often gets missed if you are on a tight schedule.
I remember my expedition from Spiti, the homestay ‘chacha’ had suggested that there is a 700 year old mummy kept in a temple at Gue which was like one hour deviation from my main route. I didn’t even have a second thought about whether to go or not after hearing the word ‘Mummy’. I made that left turn and visited the extraordinary.
Always have the mindset of ‘expedition’ and not ‘Instagram’ whenever you travel. You will see and learn a lot!
Thank You for your minute 🙂
